Probiotics are on the rise in Senegal

While probiotics are still little known in Africa, Dr. Marietou Traoré, at the initiative of PPM Laboratories which produce KEM Probiotics, led a webinar on this subject for the Duopharm Group’s partner pharmacies in Senegal.

This webinar, scheduled to last two hours, ended after three hours as there were many questions.

According to the World Health Organization, “probiotics are micro-organisms that, when ingested in sufficient quantities, have positive effects on health beyond the traditional nutritional effects”. These probiotics, commonly called bacteria or yeast, have multiple effects. They stimulate and strengthen the immune system, participate in the regulation of intestinal transit to prevent or treat diarrhea and constipation, and help fight against the effects of stress.
